Examine is a Scripture reader and study tool. It is built to collect as little as possible.
No account, no tracking
Examine has no sign-in. It does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers, and it does not collect your name, email, contacts, or location.
What stays on your device
Your saved items, verse highlights, and last-read position are stored only within the app on your device. They are not sent to us and do not sync across devices. You can export or delete them at any time.
Scripture
When you open a passage, the app requests the verse text from our server, which fetches it from licensed Bible providers (Crossway’s ESV API and API.Bible). These requests contain the passage reference only.
Ask, Weigh, and Trace
When you use these study features, the text you enter — your question, or the passage or quote you paste — is sent to our server and to Anthropic’s Claude API, which returns Bible references and analysis. This text is transmitted solely to produce your result. There is no account to link it to, and it is never used to build a profile or for advertising. Per Anthropic’s commercial API terms, inputs are not used to train their models.
Server logs
Our server may keep standard, short-lived technical logs (such as request timing and errors) to operate and secure the service. They are not used to identify you.
Children
Examine is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
